Other County Departments

The County Manager oversees a number of Departments that provide internal support to Arlington County government, as well as services to the public.

The Office of Emergency Management works to make sure that the County is prepared for any kind of disaster. Jack Brown is the Director of the Office of Emergency Management.

The Human Resources Department provides human resources leadership and expertise to attract, develop, motivate and retain a high performing and diverse workforce.  A list of current openings available to the public is here.  Marcy Foster is the Director of the Department of Human Resources.

The Department of Management and Finance (DMF) provides sound, accurate, and timely financial analysis to ensure the prudent use of County resources and enable the delivery of high quality services.  Michelle Cowan is the Director of the Department.

The Department consists of four divisions:

The Department of Technology Services (DTS) is led by Chief Information Officer Jack Belcher.  The Department builds, maintains, and secures a world-class information technology environment and provides technical expertise to County departments and agencies. Its focus is on networking, telecommunications, database and application development, Web services, financial and emergency systems and emerging technologies. In addition, the Department is now providing an increasing number of direct public services, such as free public wireless Internet connectivity
