Clarendon Day will be held on September 23, 2017. Clarendon Day is one of Arlington’s best loved and most diverse street festival, with several music stages, a large Kid’s Area, Arts and Crafts vendors, Business and Nonprofit Exhibitors from Clarendon and the region, plenty of great food from local and regional restaurants, Craft beers and Virginia wines, and more. If the weather is nice, we’ll draw more than 20,000 people to this classic event, which is now well into its third decade.
We try to make Clarendon Day a little better each year, so in 2017, there will be some changes… which we’re still working on. But all the elements of Clarendon Day will remain.
One change we can announce now is that the Pacers 5K/10K/Kid’s Dash is being moved to Sunday, September 24. (Package Pickup for runners will be held at the Pacers store during Clarendon Day, however). This change creates an opportunity for the CA to examine the event layout and logistics, which we’re doing at this time. We’ll update the website as we formally set our plans.
Right now, we want to start building a great assortment of Arts and Craft vendors, Business and Nonprofit Exhibitors. We also hope to reach out personally to Clarendon Day Sponsors. We’ve revised our Sponsorship program to ensure that Sponsors get great sites and improved brand awareness prior to, and during, the Clarendon Day event.
We fully expect the ICS Chili Cookoff will be back again at Clarendon Day. We are potentially tinkering with the Cookoff location and staging, so stand by for more. As always, winners qualify for the ICS National Tournament, and funds raised at the Cookoff will benefit a charity TBD.
Our nonprofit beneficiaries will once again be Portico Church Arlington and Arlington Independent Media, home to WERA-FM 96.7. Their support and volunteer assistance is an important part of Clarendon Day.
Check back for more as our event unfolds! But please register for Clarendon Day as soon as you can! We’re starting to sell-out earlier and earlier, so exhibitors, don’t delay!
