The 17th Annual Clarendon Day has a more of everything in 2014! In the morning, runners of all ages can participate in the Pacer’s 10k/5k/Kids Dash. When the Clarendon Festival starts at 11am, Music and Dance Lovers can listen to great bands all day for free on our Five Stages each with its own Headline Artists and supporting local cast of bands and troupes! This year the Highland Stage will feature a variety of Craft Brews by our First Annual Courthouse Arts & Craft Beer Festival Brewers front and center along with Stage-Front Seating so you can kick back and enjoy the fantastic talent! You can carry your cold brew over to enjoy the youthful Rock and Roll Stage at Garfield and the new Songwriter Stage on the Central Park Monument as well!
Then hold everything! You can settle in for an amazing line-up of Roots, Americana and Bluegrass Artists at the new Lagunitas Chili Stage
Be sure to catch our first ever National Headliner, Amber Rubarth and her trio at 2:45pm over on the Highland Stage and at 3:00pm we feature the newly christened winners of the Vans Warped Tour Battle of the Bands and DMV prodigy, 3PM on the Clarendon Stage!
Kids will can climb, play, trampoline, listen to music, and generally enjoy the Kids Zone. We’re planning face-painting, story telling, and maybe even some magic at the kid’s stage, plus a couple of cool things we cannot yet announce.
Everyone young and old will delight at the return of the Central Park Plaza Dance Stage with non stop children’s programming to start the day at 11am with a Kids Square Dance & Bluegrass Workshop by Cricket Tell the Weather followed by The Music in Me to help each of us find our Superpowers! Then at 1pm the fantastic local dance troupes, Ballet Nova, Adagio Ballet, Saffron Dance and Oneill-James School of Irish Dance!
Scores of the best Arts and Crafts Vendors in the region will be at Clarendon Day to showcase their talents, and more than a dozen local restaurants will be offering a wide range of delicious food. And best of all, we’ve improved our event layout to make it easier for people to find the food and cold beverages of their choice at Clarendon Day 2014!
Clarendon Day 2014 will run from 11am-5pm on Saturday, September 27, and you’d be missing something if you didn’t come by.
Clarendon Day is a celebration of the Clarendon neighborhood, and a showcase for the people who make our neighborhood great. Be sure to stop by and meet your friends on Saturday, September 27, at the Clarendon Metro.
